I first received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2011. During my degree I had the opportunity to intern at the Canadian Space Agency in Montreal and win three consecutive CIS National Championships for playing women’s rugby. After working in the 3D industry for a short time, I decided to transition and pursue at career in the fashion industry.
I received my Fashion Design and Marketing Diploma from the Lethbridge College in 2014, while also working part time as a graphic designer. I had the opportunity to show at Montreal Fashion Week as a finalist in the Telio Design Competition and also intern in New York during the summer of 2013 for Anna Sui.
Upon graduating from the Lethbridge College, I launched my own girlswear line, VEENA. Throughout the development of Veena I had the opportunity to set up an overseas supply chain, design apparel, prepare full tech packs, create line sheets and lookbooks, develop all necessary marketing materials, travel to India, oversee sampling with my factory, study industry trends and develop all branding and merchandising materials.
After my experience with Veena, I was hired as a design assistant / graphic designer with Triple Flip. I was only there for a short time before moving over to FGL Sports Ltd as a full time designer in INA International Ltd, the consumer brands division of FGL. During my time at FGL, I have been responsible for overseeing several merchandise categories within Lifestyle and Activewear. Each season I am tasked with presenting overall seasonal direction and trend research, preparing all CADs and tech packs, developing or sourcing all necessary artwork (repeat prints and placement graphics) and working closely with the production/sourcing team to ensure sampling is being executed as intended.
